I use Nero 7 for that purpose with XP - it's not free but you can pick it up very cheaply on eBay.

I second Nero, it does the job pretty well most the time... I have had some issues with it, but they are more user error than software in most cases. I got mine of Ebay, it was OEM and £8 + p&p...

I had serveral problems with Nero, so now use burn4free, avaliable from www.burn4free.com, not so pretty as Nero, but does what it says on the can.

I also bought Nero from Ebay, assuming it to be OEM.
Turns out this very week when I upgraded at Nero site that 'tis in fact a pirated serial number. Be warned, DO NOT update at nero just in case...

I have a legit copy of Nero, but I actually prefer ImgBurn (http://imgburn.com/) for some tasks.

a good site to get nero from is WWW.SVP.CO.UK (http://www.SVP.CO.UK) their prices are very good,i have been buying things from them for some years. The discs are very cheap.
