Need help for sim eval at EK. Interview coming up.
What is the best way for some one without glass cockpit experience to get some Sim prep in the states. Any sim training company that is familiar with EK sim rides I can buy some time. Thanks

If you are going in as a F/O you dont need to worry at all abt the SIM.
All you do is :
T/O fly a circuit at abt 1500 ft and land then T/O Eng failure track innbound to VOR then outbound on the same VOR, Followed by radar vectors to carry out a missed Approch.
They dont except you to know anything abt the A/C all they wanna see is that you can fly basic stuff.
so dont wast your money on a sim buddy.
But make sure you tell then HOW MUCH YOU LOVE DUBAI AND HOW GREATFULL YOU ARE AT BEING THERE;)

I would disagree with the above advice. If it makes you feel more confident and comfortable to fly something similar to the sim profile that EK does and that results in getting a job offer it would be money well spent. Considering your have not flown glass/EFIS it becomes even more important. You might try AeroServices 767 sim in Miami. If you are on the West Coast perhaps Alteon in Long Beach can hook you up with an hour in the MD-11 sim.

Anyone with a licence and a few jet hours in the log book will get a job in EK. As a previous poster wrote, just tell HR how great Dubai is and how fab the company premises are and how many talented people you have met during the interview process and you have most probably landed the job.
Standards in this company are dropping quicker than the QNH in Reykjavik, so the sim detail is just a formality.

so what happened to the 6 of 8 that did not last batch or 5out 8 the batch before that. The sim is a make or break and run by check/training guys .Depends how much you want the job.

YES.
Letter of confirmation of resignation from your present employer is required. As set forth in the pre-condition of employment with EK.

Even as a DEC, if he fails his initial PPC he's guaranteed a remedial training until he passes :E :E

I read somewhere that Mr. ED is considering introducing Leadership courses for captains!!!!
I thought guys would go to the left seat exactly because they were gifted with the so-called leadership skills!! :ugh:

So, standards and ops in general, must have been really bad lately.

What a joke!
What about geography lessons for mister Ed instead?
A 777 with min fuel diverted from Johannesburg to Gaborone due to unforseen wx conditions. Getting the airplane out of Gaborone took a very long time, so Mister Ed asked the operating Captain why he didn't divert to Nairobi instead?!!::eek:
A word on the way for you Ed; Many of the flights that we operate in EK are 'slightly' more complex than hopping around the continental USA in a A320.
Give me a competent manager, PLEASE!!
