Hello all

Some time ago i came across a piece of test equipment for use with a laptop which connected directly into the front of the EGPWS computer. Once connected you display all the information that passes through the EGPWS anyone have any ideas on the program and the pin strapping for the cable.

Cheers

The software you are looking for is WinVIEWS (made for the Allied Signal unit I think) The cable connection is serial (RS-232). Cable uses only the XMIT, RCV and GND lines. Pinout may vary slightly within manufacturers.

Enhanced GPWS pins on J2 Rear:
A6 - RCV
A5 - XMIT
A4 - GND

Front pins:
P3 - RCV
P4 - XMIT
P1 - GND

Cheers! :ok:

You can also connect a laptop on to the front of the Honeywell EGPWC and simulate a flight through it.

Demo I saw was the using a real time playback of the FDR parameters from the AA 757 that crashed at Cali. The first soft "Caution. Terrain." was generated 1min 20sec before the first "Whoop! Whoop! Pull up!".

Fantastic piece of kit.
