Recommendations for flying clubs around London

Hi there!

I am a (250hr) PPL looking to rent a reasonably powerful SEL to spend the occasional weekend in France/ Channel Islands.

I was thinking of a C182 or bigger - or maybe an arrow - or even one of those slick cirrus aircraft.

Can anyone recommend a club near london that runs any of the above at a reasonable cost....?

Any recommendations?

It depends on your definition of reasonable, given that you want a high performance single! There is a Bonanza@ Fairoaks about £230/hr. Or a Saratoga@Fowlmere for the same sort of moeny. If you find anything cheaper that is in good condition then would you post it back here please.:ok:

I think you'll find the BE36 at Fairoaks is N Reg and up for sale. The Saratoga at Fowlmere is still around, but you have to get a check ride and join the club to fly it.

Pilot Centre at Denham - I think have a C182. Also TAA at Denham have the Cirrus.
