Yesterday as I was travelling south on the M1 near Docaster an Iberia B727 passed the other way on a low loader. It still had the registration on, I think it was EC-DDZ (but not too sure as I was doing 80 mph at the time) It was then mentioned on the traffic report on the radio, said it had a six mile queue behind it. Also said it was going to Robin Hood Airport, I assume it must be their fire trainer.

Is this the airframe which used to be parked on the runway at Oakley?

It was stored at Bournemouth (Hurn) before being dismantled

About 10 years ago I reckon that Iberia must have been flying at least 1 of each type of jet airliner ever built!! Must have been a logistical nightmare. :}
