For a company that barely has a Euro / Lire / Cent / Dollar in the bank, and which is amidst extremely serious financial difficulties, prompting Italian PM Romano Prodi to plead for aid for the "cash strapped flag carrier", it seems bizarre that AZ has now started to repaint its fleet in a new livery (admittedly not before time).

Glimpses can be seen in the forums and news section of airliners.net

Only one MD-80 has - so far - undergone the makeover which, if you blink, you would almost certainly miss, given that the changes are so subtle. However, a change nonetheless.

And who is paying............God only knows?

And who is paying............God only knows?Paying for what ? Aircraft get repainted every 5 years or so regardless of the colour scheme; and if you look at the 'new' scheme it's actually less complex (ie. less labour-intensive) than the old one.
