My pension is paid on the 15th. The day of my birthday. Or the last working day before.

It is always on the same day of the month (or 1-2 days earlier if the due date falls on a weekend or PH); the exact date varies from individual to individual.

Paymaster is very reliable, in my experinece. I hope it remains free from the reported problems of JPA!

Yup. He's never missed a beat. On the dot 24th every month.

Don't see why the pension payout should get involved in JPA - I thought JPA was supposed to be a day-to-day admin tool.

Mine's never! I PVR'd in '73 after 13 1/2 years service. The small print in those days meant I only got a gratuity that barely covered the IRT. So not everything is for the worse now!

SFAIK it is paid on the same day of the month, every month obviously, based on the date when it was first paid. For many of us it is one's 55th birthday. You become entitled to it the day after your birthday and it is then paid monthly in arrears.

Errr......not necessarily so, I get paid on the third but joined up on the 15th and my birthday (retired at 40) is 13th - no idea why the 3rd is used

Mine goes in on the 22nd, I did ask for a particular date but was told by the Pensions HQ that it is dealers choice from the Paymaster.

I have had cause to speak to the Paymaster Office a couple of times. No P60's for the tax returns, they have been brilliant (Call center not in Mubai) and sorted out the problem within days, Long may it stay that way!

It is paid on the same date every month depending on what date you left the service. I left on the 26th. My pension is paid on the 26th each month.

Ah ha!!!! What if you left on 29th Feb?

A problem there because February 29, 2008 is the next leap year, with 29 days in February. February 2008 has five Fridays - it starts and ends on a Friday. Interestingly enough between 1904 and 2096, leap years with same day of week for each date repeat every 28 years so that means that the last time February had 5 Fridays was in 1980 and next time will be in 2036.

Still I guess you would just get big pension payments every 4 years.

Mine is paid on the 24th which is not my birthday or retirement date. It is however the day after my commissioning date. I throw that one into the ring !

Was it a leap year?

Neither date was a leap year but I did however leap for joy on some of those occasions !

Yeah, first 12 days of the month are free. The 13th is potentially unlucky.:}

So you left before you joined. Your wife had children one, two and seventeen days after she was born. You got married after two of your kids were born and two days before you were commissioned but seven days after you left and only three days after you joined. Your pension is paid eleven days after you left but nine days after you joined and only four days after you were commissioned and six days after you were married but eleven, nine after and four days before your kids were born.
To cap it all you were born after you joined, got commissioned and left and after two of your kids were born and on the same day as one of them was born and after your wife was born:eek:.

Blimey what a busy month you had and I agree with you I dont see the pattern.:ok:
