I think I'm beginning to agree somewhat. I've got an asshat aquaintence who persists in sending me links with "hey, watch this, this is funny"........ when a) it's not or b) I've seen it about a dozen times already.

Agreed. It's not just this forum either, it's an internet-wide malaise. At the least, video links could be restricted to one (sticked or otherwise) thread which people can dip into at their leisure, if that sort of thing floats their boat.

I've never clicked on a youtube link, not because I have no sense of humour (please debate in seperate thread if you must), but because I'm on dialup and I don't have that much time.

A logo denoting a thread based on a link would save me a lot of wasted clicks.

Quite agree - another forum one lurks on occasionally has three or four stickies for such categories as Youtube videos, amusing things for sale on Ebay etc. Keeps them from clogging up the real threads, especially with so many duplications these days.

Meanwhile, if you just happen to be interested in aviation (sometimes seems unlikely hereabouts) I can thoroughly recommend Aviapedia, which has lots of video clips. Many of these relate to Russian aviation, and include extracts from the Russian TV series "Smotr".....the one about the Ekranoplane/ "Caspian Sea Monster" is fascinating. I just wish I could understand the commentary.

Like most i can't be bothered with YouTube funny moments either...however, if free music clips from concerts/shows is your thing, there's a wealth of good footage out there..had me signing along earlier which is unique seeing as i can't sing:rolleyes:
