Seeking some help, please, from anybody who has served in, been based in, flown over, the land of the heather.
I am writing a book for an Edinburgh publisher about military flying in Scotland from ancient days until now. All right, it's not as much fun as zooming around but there come a time when age creeps in and over so all one can do is scribble, scribble, scribble.
I am on the look out for anecdotes, grim, humorous, whatever that can mention Scotland and roundel-daubed machines in adjoining sentences.
Drop me a line by means of the smart box on the left and I'll get in touch.
To put you off completely, there's no monry in this but really, really smashing tales might get a free book. Well, half-price as it's a Scottish publisher.
Anything post-1945 is my cry. I'm up to my ears in stuff from before then.

I always thought the best way to see Scotland was first thing in the morning at 100' doing 500 knots! Not a breath of wind and the reflection of your aeroplane on the water!!

Those were the days!!

Now I just get to watch as I slowly wander down the riverbank looking for that elusive salmon. Keep up the good work chaps! The lower and faster the better!!
