All a bit optimistic I feel, the Jag is more likely to be employed in the other middle east theatre, because:
1. There is already plenty of runway length (if a little narrower than norm) at Kandahar for other platforms to operate from. If the supply chain, tanker assets etc. could support it, then GR4 with it's higher load capacity and gun would almost certainly be there already.
2. Notwithstanding above comment on length, the Jag is going to have serious performance issues at that elevation with any kind of useful loadout.
All in my partially educated humble opinion, of course.

Just a quick 'tech' query, when did they fit brake lights to the jags? I can't remember seeing them before today.

I heard that it was still considered under-powered despite the new engines - is the case? Presumably the small wing combined with lack of donk is the cause of the problem.

Have suggested to Waddington airshow office that a Jag send-off is needed, as was done for the PR9 this year. Airfield attack and diamond-nine is preferred, for any 6 Sqn pilots reading - hopefully there'll still be nine at the beginning of July!

Unlikely - the RAF retired its Phantoms some years ago.

I recall helping a mate turn round his brand-new Jag at Valley in the summer of 1975 - it really has been around for rather a long time! He'd flown down with an OCU instructor in the other jet to give us Gnat students a talk on his smart new jet.
But he did tell me that he'd got a bit tight in the final turn and needed a fair bit of burner to get round OK.....:(

Days before the VC10 tanker and the Hercules C.Mk 3. Only the VC10 C1, the Nimrod, the Puma, and the Hercules C1 are older than Jag now, I guess?

And ironic too, that VC10, Nimrod, C-130 and RW aircraft are always the first to be needed when Mad George tells his poodle it's time for yet another war.....

Still, the Jag has given excellent service. And now it'll be thrown away before the EuropHoon has any credible mud moving capability......
