:ugh: It stinks!Am I the only one who is disgruntled with the new leave policy? For those who dont know, Bond have forced upon us a new leave policy which means that our leave year is split into 4 x 3 month periods and we must take at least 5 days leave in each of these and if we dont take it in these allocated periods they will be bidding leave in these periods for us!Also leave cannot be taken if other pilots away in other areas of the country.-not appy!:=

Would be nice to be able to take it all in one five week block, but consider yourself lucky that you get five weeks.

No Tuna, you are not the only one disgruntled by the new leave policy and I would like to think there will be some further discussions on this for the leave in 2008. To clarify the situation for those who don't know, the roster for those on a fixed system, outside of Scotland, gives 15 blocks of 5 days off during the year (plus additional required days off).

Each quarter, a block of 5 days leave has to be taken which gives a 12-day block away from work. Another 5 days can then be taken, either as individual days or tied in to extend a 12-day block producing 19 days away from work. It would be interesting to hear how this compares with companies such as PAS, Stirling and Veritair.

Tuna, if you have not already spoken to me directly then give me a ring, I suspect you know where; airing dirty washing in public is never pretty.

hi there guys,

out of interest how many days in a year do you actually work after taking your leave ?

as far as I know offshore seems to vary between 182 and 220 or so depending on which base you are at, and corporate seems to be about 230 to 240, I dont know about utility.

It would be interesting to compare (I know we are comparing apples and pears)

Hi Guys,
It must be terrible having to deal with such conditions. Fancy getting all that training (maybe / maybe not an IR!) AND be paid tens of thousands to fly helicopters.
Just spare a thought for us guys who are scratching out a few hours here and there in a Jetranger who can't get the "big break". Actually you're very lucky.

Well that policy seems fair enough to me, until you get to the punchline. Can't take leave if someone elsewhere wants the same dates? Wot? Bloke in Devon can't go because a bloke in Lancs has already booked? Can't be serious.

Sounds like Bond need some more floaters...

And what happens in Scotland then? Presumably they fight over it, bare breasted and each carrying an eight pound baby.

Join BALPA and get a proper agreement. Bond have never liked the union and have you ever wondered why!!!! There is a critical shortage of experienced pilots at the moment - you have the power use it!! or be treated as you are now.
