View Full Version : Anyone have QF1 Photos

Having just past the anniversary of the infamous QF1 Bangkok golfing incident, i realised that somewhere on a very old computer I had some high-ish resolution photos an engineer or other had taken from around the plane a day or so after said excursion (sent round on the early days of email). Unfortunately they cant be extracted just yet, due to a somebuggerofagadet failure. From memory some of the photos were similar to the airdisater photos only they were bigger and better quality and there were more of them.

Does anyone have them or a link to them? (other than airdisater ones, or those found in the atsb report) Can you pm if you do or email please?

Globaliser yep - those ones - thanks - but was still after the high resolution ones - i think those were off airdisaster, and they always seem to shrink them, and they lose the quality

So without opening up a big can of worms on who was at fault with what, etc.....what happened to the careers of the two guys up front. Did they get retrained and allowed back to work.........no doubt they learnt something from their ordeal.

Yeah, what a reputation to have, regardless of what/who was at fault. I'd hate to have that one on my record.

I hear second hand that the Captain is still a B744 skipper. Don't know about the F/O but I heard he was the one that got the kick in the ar$e more so than the Captain...(???), so I imagine that the career progression within the company would be considerably hindered for him...but as I say, 2nd hand info.

I would be too embarrassed to continue work in the company, personally. Every time you fly, you could just about feel the other guy thinking to himself "Don't phuck up the landing this time...".

This is NOT a stab at those involved, by the way. I'm not suggesting it was anyone's fault in particular, and there's no way I could've done any better in those conditions, which were horrid to say the least.

I'm sure it is widely understood that an aircraft bingle is actually a guaranteed way to accelerate your career progression in your company successfully. (Well at least it is in the RAAF)

I think Mr Snoozer is very close to the truth here. Everyone that I know who has crashed or been sacked has gone onto bigger and better things quicker than if they stayed with the same company.

Maybe its time for old Tiger to start destroying aircraft! :}
