We now plan to start stripping 728's back end (ooer) to remove the No2 pipe and gain access to the reheat AMCU.
I will post a few shots as we go along
Cheers

Never visited but the airfield looks to be in good condition. Hope it stays that way with the attitude of some local councils looking for brownfields.

Hi all, just a little update on all things LPG,
On Saturday 7th Oct we began to disconnect all the pipe work on 728's No2 jet pipe in readyness to pull it out for a closer look at the reheat AMCU,which after alot of head scratching and testing we belive is the reason for the min reheat snag we have seen for a while.
After the best part of the day of arm stretching and near impossible bolt removals we are now ready to pull the pipe which we will do in the next few weeks.
Heres a few shots

320psi,

Just a friendly suggestion ....... it might be better to title your thread "Bruntingthorpe 23 Sept 2006" or simillar, rather than "Bruntingthorpe Today". A title like the latter is obsolete the minute the next day shows up! :ok:

Apologies for the thread drift, but I hear rumours that the some locals are trying to get Brunters shut because of noise [1]. Being that a pair of Avons on full berries isn't the quietest of events I really hope that the NIMBYs don't get their way.

Yes, your correct, but I think most of the compliants come about due to car noise, but what do you expect when you move next door to a proving ground

And interestingly we only run the burners twice a year at the open days when everything else is running, we only run to 90% power on antidet runs and thats only for a maxium of about 5-6 seconds, on one engine at a time, so noise levels are kept to a minum, we also do it on a Saturday.

We also hope the NIMBY's dont get their way

Its great to see a group of people so passionate about the wonderful Lightning. I'm sure its the sole reason that the seed was planted within me to join the RAF when I was so young.

How I would love to see all your collective hardwork turned into a run past V1 and on through V2.
