You look up the roster….dam I’m flying during the …..(what ever)… I know, brilliant…. I’ll tape it……but…..Don’t you just hate it when you arrange to tape a footy game, a race or something of that ilk….you think….…yeah, after work I’ll sit down and watch this, beer in hand and enjoy the game…without knowing the score……, but some bludger asks the score or the result on Centre freq and they oblige with the result……Hey look we all don’t need to hear the outcome.

Can’t you just say like they do on telly…. Look away now if you don’t want to see!

I've had a few pilots protest that they don't wanna know when another pilot has requested the score/result of.... Must have the coldies waiting at home like you said.
Datalink comes in real handy in these situations!!
Or " All stations who do not want to know the score/result, take off your headset or turn off your radio now! "
Not sure if ICAO or CASA will approve though :ouch:

I think this is a great idea! I will lead the push for a change in MATS/AIP!

Cheers,

Ah, isn't it good to see the REALLY IMPORTANT issues facing us being discussed at last.... ;)

M8, take your headset off and "take a comfort break", CASA-approved, if it worries you that much!

I for one, like to hear the progress of such games for our passengers. And it's one of the particularly human aspects of Australian airspace - that controllers are happy to oblige with such requests. You should have heard it the night of Aus vs Brazil (real football, folks) - no VHF or HF coverage anywhere. A very big thank-you to all the chaps in Melbourne Centre!

G'day All,...and Sorry 'Dog'...
Have often complied with such a request on all frequencies / areas...
Domestic WA, VHF & HF, and Int. HF freqs....'SEA' 'INO'...
These requests were 'asked for' and then 'responded to'...giving ample time to remove headset TEMPO to 'scratch one's ear' or whatever....
SOME 'Well Respected'?? Captains, even got SELCALLED and where possible,
live scores relayed...ONLY when THEIR team was in front - of course!:ok:
However, if I 'gotcha' unprepared, I'm sorry......
(And I'll NEVER do it again!):= :D
