Anyone know whats going on here? Isnt Mann Avation doing IR training here.

Anyone visited?

Looks like a nice place with good runways

Flew in their recently. Place deserted. Apparently TRA is scaring lots off, but a simple phone call ascertains the situation. TRA is not often fully activated. Then its a call about 10nm out, cleared into TRA and airfield info for landing. Great place for a splash and dash to/ from Ireland if flying from south/ south east england. There is also a grass runway (not shown on Jepp plates, but in AFE) - if memory serves correctly its 22/04 about 560m.

It always is really quiet there - they need a good cafe to draw in the crowds!

Mann Air are doing CPL & IR training from there, good base, good instructors and good facilities. Also they have an AOC and are busy with the PA31/PA34/C421.
