Forecast this morning was very poor in that area as was the rest of Scotland. The area of the accident has terrain mostly 1000ft>, forecast cloudbase around 700ft, actual may have been different.

Anyone know the aircraft involved?

Hope a speedy recovery guys!

The word at Strthaven airfield is that it was G-GGRH, pictured in happier times at http://tinyurl.com/zscdx (http://tinyurl.com/zscdx)

Heard that neither the Strathclyde Police helicopter OR the Scottish Ambulance HEMS helicopter could make it to the scene because the weather was so bad. Although they both tried.

Makes it an interesting decision for this ac to try to take off and try to get to Campbeltown. :=

Lucky for them them seemed to have gotten away with it.

Reported that they were trying to get to Machrihanish. Bit of scud running flew through some 60 ft trees taking the blades off. A/C slid on for 200 -400 yrds completely disitegrating as it went. Sounds like the A/C took most of the energy out of the impact. Apparently it looks more like a 22 configuration than a 44!!

Very, Very lucky their injuries aren't far worse.

Speedy recovery guys.
