There was no N2967, that I can find.
HWG and EFE was the same aircraft, sn J19.
N685FM was sn J49
Can't find N3020 either. J43 was N3010.
JA5057 was J56
PQE was J55.

VISS operated a total of seven Mallards at one time or another. Hurricane Hugo more or less put them out of business.

Saw CF-HWG J19 at Prestwick 3/5/60 with Spartan Air Services.
Saw G-ASCS J55 at Prestwick 16/2/63,previous regs N2985 and CF-PQE.
Gosh seems a long time ago.

Plus flew in N7356 and N7338 with Chalks Miami(Watson I.)-Bimini-Miami 11/12/72

Thanx for the info. it was very helpful. I have a few more questions about the Mallards.

Do you know the Regs and serial numbers for the Turbo Mallards in the VISS fleet?
Was J-11 ever registered something like N??DF?
What was J-30's first Reg. No.?

Again, Thanx for the info.

In addition to the Mallards, VISS also operated two Twin Otters, I believe. Sorry I can't help ya on the Turbo machines.

There is a new book out by Fred Hotson, 'Grumman Mallard, The Enduring Classic' that is the definitive study of the Mallard.

J11 was registered N76DF at one time, owned by Dean Franklin of Miami. It was re-registered to VISS as N611SS, was repossessed, and was severely damaged in Hurricane Wilma in October of 2005. Click here. (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1005677/M/) There's another pic somewhere showing the aircraft lying on its back.

J30 was originally registered N3500, owned by Texaco.

J42 was once N2976, later became N51151 and N142PA.
To my knowledge operators were: Trans Catalina Airlines, Bahamas Aircraft, Pan Am, Chalks
