Has anyone had experience with the DVICO DVB-T Dual Digital TV Tuners? Am thinking of getting one as I will be moving house again soon and don't want to buy another telly, was thinking of just taking my pc with me and getting a tv tuner instead?! I've had a quick look through different kinds of cards and this one seems ok.

Any users with suggestions?

Thanks. BC

Sure have - Heaps.

I use a computer as my entertainment system, attached to a projector, running XP.

Your idea of a TV tuner card is spot on. The best brand by far is Winfast, I have made three media centres of late using their DTV2000H PCI card, and it works very well, as it receives both Analogue and Digital TV, at a cost of just under $100.00

I can highly recomend you go the path of a TV card, or even a media centre - all of my friends who have seen mine now have the same !!

Cheers,

Danny Crane.

Thanks for the info, I think I will go ahead.. I'm still edging towards the DVICO though, think HD might be worth checking out and the idea of being able to record two channels at once sounds interesting too. Might have to throw in a 24" Dell monitor at the same time?! $$$ :ugh:

I would say that is key. Most DVB tuners only decode one channel at a time, so you can watch & record tv but not watch one channel & record another which takes us back past the advent of video recorders!

Dual tuners are popping up now, Terratec & Hauppauge for example. One other thing, My set up is based on media centre 2005 & I upgraded it from the open source Media portal (free to download) & I have noticed that with an upgraded graphics & tv tuner, the image quality is slightly worse in the expensive Microsoft os than it was in the free MP software!
