Hi All....can anyone help? I have been getting a screen appearing when I boot up IE which tells me all about a virus and has a page of advertising associated with it. I am up to date with my virus scans and I believe this might be some kind of "browser hijack". I have looked at the home page set in my preferences and it remains the same(ie the one I set it to).I have tried ad aware and spybot with no success.

The address of the page is www .safetyhomepage.net
DON'T CLICK ON IT!! and I cannot shift it. It seems to be an advert to sell me something I don't feel I need......any help?(xp home edition service pack 2 running on Internet Explorer....latest version )

dl and run hijack this. itll tell you what progs are on your machine. anything that looks dodgy then can be isolated and deleted.

just follow the instructions.
look on the net for more advice, re using hijack this.

aslo run spybot and poss adaware.
