I've got an assesment day with these people soon.

Doesn't seem to be much info on them from previous threads.

Anybody been there and know what I have to look forward to?

What stuff can i expect?

Expect standard interview with possibly an external recruiter and then a further interview with CP/Fleet Captain. Some basic questions may be asked on the ATR/Company history.

When people asked you questions on the above you failed to answer anybody. Something tells me you are one of these people who dreams up these jobs. Please dont waste our time.

Hey Jumboclingfilm, would love to know how you came about getting the assessment day offer for Air Contractors? Have you experience because I thought I had it under pretty good authority that they weren't interested in anyone with <1500hrs. It would be nice to hear that they have changed this policy. Would also be interested to konw if it is for the ATR fleet at Glasgow and would a TR be bonded?

I dont think they bond people at ACL ! they normaly take on type rated guys, most of them with hours on type !

i know guys who got into ACL with 250-300 hours, the important thing to have is a TR, ACL used to want time on type but with lots of movers onto jets they have lowered their requirements, i had 1300hrs TT but no time on type and got a job this year with them and am very happy.

also you can be based in Glasgow, the good thing about ACL is that you can be based wherever you want :O

there is no bond with ACL, you pay for your own TR, ie Skyblue and then are recruited. You get 80% pay until you pass your line-check

Do you know if they offer employment on the condition of passing an ATR TR? It a lot of risk just going out and buying a rating on the aircraft on the hope that you might just get in. You are pretty stuffed if you don't because espcially after Air Wales's demise there ain't a lot of ATR operators out there (bar Aer Arann).

i wouldn't bother applying to ACL if you do not have the ATR TR in your licence, there are 2-4 guys/girls a month coming out from skyblue in Exeter along with pilots from Europe and they will get interviews with ACL when they need people, unfair i know but sometimes you have to take a chance and it worked for me.

they are a good company to work for, from op's, to engineers and to pilots, everyone i have met is friendly and professional. 4 months roster in advance with not many changes to it. the ATR is also a nice aircraft to fly, with lots of sectors but not many hours a year.

(Aurigny fly the ATR from Guernsey, they take people with no time on type)

I got in with ACL earlier this year but turned down the offer. However the day consisted of the following:

Maths Test.
Spelling Test.
Interview with HR.
Interview with Chief and another Senior Pilot.

Maths was a bit tricky - spelling test was easy. Interviews were fairly straighforward - I wasn't asked anything technical on the ATR - just more about why do I want to join and your flying career to date.

They were a decent bunch and I know that your are well looked after once you're in.

I have 900hrs total, 440hrs on the ATR are they like to be interested? also someone wrote "you can be based anywhere" Could anyone ellaborate? What's the atmosphere like? roster, etc...
