Sorry to clog up the forum with bone requests, but has anyone got a link to a good image of a Chinny lifting a Lynx? Preferably a Navy one. The banter will be endless. :ok:
Looked everywhere, found nowt. :{

OK I'll start the 'endless banter'..........

The RAF, the fourth emergency service, doing what they do best, helping the real professional aviators back from the frontline for a spot of servicing.(Captain Flt Lt E Stobbard)

Just to confirm that the picture is of a 'Naval' Lynx Mk7 being lifted from a wader exercise in Cyprus back to HMS OCEAN ready to transit down through Suez to TELIC having failed an engine inspection.
Through gritted teeth I thank the RAF!

why is the Lynx dropping flares?

They look like grab ropes to control the Lx as it nears the deck.

Indeed but 'Handling lines' is the prefered term with a "monkey fist" knot on the end.

In this case there was not enough time for a bunch of ham-fisted matelot air engineers to tie Monkey's Fists so 'liberated' shackles were used instead!

Is that why one of them there shackles seems to have detached from a Skid??
