The MV-22 “Osprey” is a common sight in the skies of Eastern North Carolina, however, tens of thousands of people recently had an opportunity to observe the aircraft for the first time when two “Ospreys” made the “self-deployment” from MCAS New River to the continent of Europe. The flight covered more than 4,00 miles, much over it over the North Atlantic Ocean, in challenging weather conditions.

4,00 natutical miles i soppose?:confused:

Pretty obvious it's a montage

And pretty poor because of it. It doesn't say much for whichever PR machine published this dross: cr*p photo, ridiculous caption, so why bother?.

That would answer the question of whether you have to transition to hovering flight to get clearance into the heli-lanes...

Chevron, Zoom

It looks pretty genuine from here, why do you think its a composite?

That's one of the most amusing fakes i've seen...i think there might be ice skating in hell if that's genuine. Look at the illumination on the a/c skin versus that in the rest of the shot, look at the shadow arrangements...

Utter hogwash...possible hornswaggle.

Thing is, if they were after a good publicity shot to match the story why didn't they fake it going past Big Ben or Bucking-Ham Palace? (as those responsible for said photo would no doubt pronounce it:rolleyes: )

Shame they didn't fake it about 5 seconds later, then we could have seen whether our esteemed colleagues at MoD were doing any work! :}

Just a thought BUT how does this thing land if the engines cannot be "rotated" for some reason. Is there a hand pump a la conventional u/c?

However, It is probably a better picture than the last publicity shot - that of an Osprey hovering over a mosque dispatching Special Forces. It didn't last long!

It's a real photo. The photo op was observed by many in London on the day.

Certainly a real photo, one shot out the back of the other - there's another picture of one taken over the London Eye...
