Only guessing that as Nick is/was a CAA Flt Ops inspector then someone has had an 'experience' with him!
Must say, for what it's worth, only met him once but came across as logical and pragmatic to me.

Good luck!

Decent guy.

As I understood it, leaving the CAA was a decision Nick made all on his own.

Guess you can only work for the 'regime' for so long :E

Best of luck in your future ventures

Was that before or after the CAA mandatory lobotomy?

Blessedly Nick never had the CAA lobotomy. Always practical and helpful. A true gent in this business. He was my inspector for some time and always helped when asked.

Good luck Nick, or should that be good lick Nuck!!

Thanks for the kind comments. For those who are interested, I'm leaving because I've done almost seven years at the Belgrano and need a change. Flying a desk was interesting for a while but there's only so much of it that you can do without becoming either establishment or anti-establishment, and I didn't fancy staying long enough to become either. From October 5 I'll be flying freelance.

You the same pyromaniac Gribbs that lit a fuse attached to your top hat whilst giving your leaving speech at the Newlyn Meadery, on completion of which your hat exploded?

Oh yes, I remember it well. Still have the scars...

......and the dreadful leather tie with the cannabis leaf motif that so excited some of the squadron heirarchy in those happy days on 820?

Wow, did it ever. I was escorted from the wardroom and given a serious ear-bending by the commander. I was told to dispose of it but ended up scraping the picture off instead, which displeased them even more, as I recall.

Take care and good luck for the future.
