Anyone know what category of ETOPS certification Cathay Pacific's A330 & B777 fall under? Tried the search function with no luck.

Splitting hairs, but aren't all the 330s 180 ETOPS not just the 333s? Probably asked for interview reasons so......

We only have 330-300's.:eek:

If it is a generic question, it would also depend on the airline's capability etc, so although we have 180, others may have less.

For instance if VS were to get 330's next year as they have not operated to ETOPS before, they maybe restricted until such time as they have proved they are ETOPS capable.

Cathay has 330-343's (B-HLM-W), which have 772B engines. The others, B-HLA-L & LAA-C, are A330-342s, which have the 772s. Internally in Cathay they are referred to as 333, if in a three class fit and 330, if in a two class fit. This where Silberfuchs got his 333 from.
They are all 180 ETOPS under Cathay's AOC, as pointed out by Spanners.

Are none of the aircraft 207 min ETOPS

Any benefit to going to 207 - with the exception of HKG-JFK (where the great circle route skirts along the Southern boundary of the polar 180 min no-go zone) 180 seems more than adequate for current routes.

I guess the move up to 207 would keep the maintenance bods a bit busier - and add to the cost?
