Just wondered if they are a customs airfield? Also hotels close by?

Short answer is yes. have a look at the last page from the french AIP :

Is says Customs is with 4 hr prior notice on a monday - friday between the hours of 10:00 and 18:00 GMT (earlier than 10:00, by 13:00 previous day).
Strangly it doesn't mention Saturday or Sunday.

Indeed, check the openings on weekend on the chart for the customs but as usual, even in the week, they will probably not show up as in most french smaller airfields without commercial activities.
The hotel noted below is close by the tower but on the west side, just as the fuel (Total card only... getting tricky now with pure cash).
The local aeroclubs are on the east side so don't tend this way unless you love starting up for some taxiying.
