Hi all,
I know the above aircraft was written off in Tangers as per the details below, but I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to the actual airframe (ie was it chopped up, is it still there rotting?), The Bean

The aircraft ran off the left side of runway 28 on landing, continued in a shallow channel before coming to rest 1165yds past the touchdown point. Aquaplaning is suspected since the landing took place during a heavy rainshower with wind at 60deg/24kts.

Many happy trips on Yogi in the late 70's still got a picture somewhere of her in all her majesty:)

Remember her taxying out for her first flight of the day to Tangiers in the fog, from upstairs in Local all you could see was the fin going along then appearing out of the mirk on takeoff on 27.

Seemed to like 27 departures and 09 arrivals....

The cheep flights back to Cardiff when she went for maintenance were also a bonus for us low paid types..

I flew on BBVH in my younger years and I vaugly remember the landing @ GIB.

I worked with a chap a few years back who was involved with removing parts from the airframe at Tangiers. He told me it was moved to the edge of the airfield and left there.

I have been unable to find out what happened to it after that and a quick look on Google Earth reveals nothing that resembles at Viscount (that I can see).
