Auster WJ401 ex 656 Squadron Malaya is being restored to flying condition and the owner would appreciate hearing from any pilot who actually flew it on operations during the period 1952 to 1956 (after which it returned to UK). Austers were actively engaged over the jungles and swamps dropping supplies, loud speaker hailing, spreading leaflets and reconnaissance spotting. Does anyone know what WJ401 was actually doing and how it performed during its four years in Malaya.
