Can anyone tell me if there is specific legislation regarding landing an EMS helicopter in a public place or on private property in an emergency situation specific to Vic?

Nothing special for Vic.

An EMS helo can land anywhere it likes in an emergency - public or private, Federal, Commonwealth, National Park, State or Council land.

The only people who get upset about this are those who really dont care about anyone else. Imagine getting tense becuse a helicopter landed on your front lawn to attend to the 5 people trapped in the car down the road?

Some people even complain about the noise of rescue helicopters. So intrested in their own bottom holes that they dont realise other people exist! Or at least have given up caring....

no wonder we need good samariton provisions. :uhoh:

In Czech the regs are the same. An EMS flight can land anywhere they want, and we do ;)
As the initial medical response if we are called, quite often we are landing out on the street, or in someones back-yard before they even know whats going on.
You do get some interesting looks on peoples faces...
