Hiya, i'm looking to go to Dubai in october for 5 nights and looking for a cheap nice hotel. I work as crew so going on standby but want cheap and nice ( like everyone) it's just a quick visit to get wedding rings made as to dame expensive here. already got my engagment ring in Bahriain so refuse to pat british price, a you can have a hol and the rings at the same price.
I have been looking but want to stay next to the beach and the cheapest is £1145, staff travel are as useful as a chocolate teapot, apart from sorting out my flights. any help would be good! tried expiedia, cheap hotels, ebookers etc

Dusty,

Try Imperial Suites...offering about £60 a night...lots of Gas Cookers though! Not what you want if you are buying rings!

Cheers

Hi Dusty,

Just noticed that you will be arriving in Dubai during Ramadan (it starts at the end of September this year). I had been thinking about going to Dubai for hols during October myself but was put off the idea a little by reading some posts on an internet travel fourm. Apparently you will certainly be able to find restaurants (particularly in hotels) and the like open during the day to accomodate non-muslims tourists and ex-pats, but some restaurants and points of interest will be closed during daylight hours throughout Ramadan.

Before I get my head bitten off by someone else I'm going to admit that what I've said above is seccond hand information and as such may well be wide of the mark!

Will be in DXB 15th-19th Sept inclusive for World Routes Conference. If anyone is around at that time, fancy a beer?

Cheers
