Anyone likely to be going to the BoB Air Show at RAF Leuchars?

If so anyone fancy meeting up for a soda water and lime in one of the hospitality tents?

Can't be there, but I was the "unhappy instructor" in the back seat of the Chipmunk that did the "crazy flying by useless student" presentation in 1953.

The actual pilot was the CO of StAUAS. My Dad was in the crowd. He took it all bravely, but he later confessed he did worry when he saw us disappear below the banks of the creek at Guardbridge.

I'll be in NCL then, Pups. How would I get from there to RAF Leuchars?

By train, dead easy. Newcatle to Edinburgh, Edinburgh to Leuchars station :ok:

Thanks for that CJ! Obviously I had no idea where the place is and certainly didn't realise how easy it is to reach from NCL. Long time no see mate!

CJ & OzEx,

Would be fantastic to meet up with you chaps at Leuchars. If you are up for it, drop me a PM and we can co-ordinate about where and when we can meet.

How about this for a plan?

Rendevous at a the static display at 1400. Look for a Cessna 172 G-DRAM.

10W will be there looking after it for a mate....

G-DRAM held my machine up at GLA this afternoon, stopped at the tower to pick some NATS employee up.....
One rule for them, another for us :ugh: ;)

Thought you were worried about our mighty vortex wake .... :p

Actually, we were doing NATS a favour ... 3 pob out, 2 back ... ;) beats them having to pay for a redundancy package ... which ultimately keeps your costs down ... ;)

Shame we didn't see you around Scottie :(

Even more impressive a take off was carried out at Leuchars, especially when you consider it was fully fuelled and had myself and Flypuppy on board, plus 2. :)

Couldn't get a pass :{ :ugh:

Got dragged to the car show room instead and was forced to part with cash :{ :{ :{

Thumb is well and truly implanted. Anyhow the weather for the show was fantastic! You guys must've had a good time.

Anyhow why no EDI bashes?

10W
13th Sep 2006, 00:23
No EDI Bashes cos we all got the thumb ... one way or another ;)

We could do a Prestwick one of course, with a professional pilot slant and get you all on the ATC simulator perhaps ?

Failing that, then myself and Aunt Rimmer are always happy to take professional pilots up in real aircraft ;)

...and like any good dram, just add a wee bit of water to make it even better. :)

Thanks to 10W Aunty Rimmer and Com Jam for a spectacular weekend. Meeting up with OzExPat in EDI just added to the fun.

Anyone brave enough to post some photos?
