PAT experiences + hours question

I can't find a thread about PAT in Bournemouth, appologies if there is already a merged thread - if so can someone point me at it.

Basically interested in the usual information and experiences of those who trained with PAT.
How's the instruction? What are their pass rates like? Is accomodation cheap and reasonably pleasant?

Also, I'm interested in the possibility of buying a plane share after my PPL and using it for my hours building, has anyone done this - how did it work out, did you have trouble finding an instructor willing to help you structure your hours building since you didn't want to use a school plane? Another possibility I'm thinking about is doing my PPL or some of my hours building in SA (43rd), how are they for structuring the hours?

I'm concerned about the possibility of wasting hours boring holes without learning much, which is why I'm partially minded to do it all at PAT because of the ATC environment, but if 43rd are just as good for this aspect of the training I'd quite like to spend a few weeks in SA.

Any and all experiences gratefully received.

One of the problems on this forum is that you can't search for 3 letter words. Here are some threads that I have previously posted on. There may be others.

Basically, I've never heard a bad word said about them, and I've heard from one of the Bournemouth Examiners that PAT are one of the best on the airfield. Best advice is to go and visit them.

Just to add my two pennies worth.
I went through PAT a few years back, based on recommendation and the fact that they said they could get me through my IR in the very limited time I had available (ie my holiday).
Throughly professional, AM and the rest of the bunch were excellent and true to their word (not something I would readily say about any other flying school)

They did my multi and IR and were excellent in every regard. I reported that fact and they've done a lot of business off the back of subsequent pprune recommendations. No idea about current prices but they were excellent value compared to the leading brands a few years ago.

I would give PAT a full thumbs up. Did my CPL, Multi, IR there in 2003 and 2004 and it was a very good (but expensive!) experience. All a/c (twin) have a similar fit avionics, which is good from a point of view if an aircraft goes sick....great instructors and highly recommended..

PAT are great. I went to them on recommendation to do my multiCPL and IR. Just completed the multiCPL in 20 days which was just awesome (mainly due to great weather and being able to fly every day). a/c are great and never once had any form of scheduling problem as you are usually buddied up with another student and allocated an a/c for most of the day.

Also spoke to them before I did my hour building in the States just so I didnt burn off 80 hours and not learn from it and they helped out by telling me what aspects to concentrate on and what would be useful for the CPL etc.....
