Hi can someone remind me or provide a link on the specifics for take off performance. Ideally i want to put it all in a spreadsheet and from what i can remember you need the following:

Recommended TOR
Elevation
Temperature
Runway Surface Type
Upslope %
Safety Factor

If someone could furnish me with the ratios for this lot I would be most appreciative...

A couple of the CAA's GA Safety Sense leaflets will help. They're on the CAA website, but the site seems to be down at the moment. From memory, the ones you want are "Strip Sense" and (no surprise) "Performance".

Edited to say that the Safety Sense Leaflets are in LASORS. The 2006 edition suffers from the same access problems from the CAA site as above, but the 2004 edition is accessible (http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/LASORS.PDF). (Several Mb download).

The one you want for factors is Safety Sense Leaflet 7 - Aeroplane Performance:

However, you can go to the Horse's Mouth, since the Safety Factors contained in there are taken from AIC 67/02 (Pink 36) (http://www.ais.org.uk/aes/pubs/aip/pdf/aic/4P036.PDF), as linked. Access to the AIS site requires free registration.

(Edited again because even I don't know what a "Horse's Moth" is...)

What you need is a proper takeoff performance chart for your actual aircraft type.

This will give you the required distance for different altitudes, temperatures, weights, end-of-runway obstacle heights, and headwind values.

Not some generalised stuff in CAA "safety" sense leaflets.

IO540, the Safety Sense leaflets and the AIC do make it very clear that the factors are to be applied (when appropriate) to the standard performance charts contained in the flight manual for the aircraft in question.

The point being, of course, that the flight manual will not contain data for every situation in which the aircraft might find itself.
