QF31 is due to deposit me at LHR around 06:45 on Friday, 18 August. All being well - and in accordance with long-standing tradition - I plan to have my first drink on London terrafirma at midday, the same day, at the Cheshire Cheese. Anyone else feel that they'd like to partake of a liquid lunch with me? :E

For those who can't make it there - or want an excuse to continue the TGI Friday partying - I expect to be at the Knights Templar pub from around 17:30 to about 20:00 or so. From there, a short cab ride to the Donzoko Japanese resty for dinner and saki (or whatever), then maybe a few more refreshments at a nearby pub called The Blue Posts.

I know it's a bit of a way into the future right now but thought I'd get this in early, for the benefit of those who have to consult rosters, etc.

Anyone up for this?:D

Wotcha Oz, how goes it mate? Are you not the PiC??

Count me in, even though I'm off the grog still. Mr Fraser is allergic to ThreadBaron following a disturbing incident at the recent BoGBash, but at least he knows were to point the hot air dryer.....:ok:

Look forward to seeing you again!

One is well up for, if not lunchtime, the evening. Must remember to make a booking for Donzoko this year Oz!!

Mr Fraser, you dry yet????:E

G'day angels mate! Be good to see you again - even if you still insist on drinking the lolly water... it's the company that's important, not just the drinks! :ok: As for being PiC... good gawd no! I'll be happily esconced in a J class sky bed and enjoying a few too many glasses of vino, among other things! ;)

Some people have memories that are waaay too long, ThreadBaron! :} But thanks for the reminder all the same... I shan't be making that mistake again this year. I hope!

I'm starting to get the gist of the comment about "beer-proof trousers" now too. Sounds like it was fun for everyone except poor Mr Fraser. Rest assured though that any such incidents at this minibash will be pure accident... one hopes... :E

Does anyone need directions to any of the bash venues? If so, get the address from the phone book then find it with Google Earth... that's soooo much easier than giving complicated text descriptions! :)

I will be issuing one of these to anyone who can't hold their beer

Well, being as how I'm not a beer drinker and neither is angels, there's two people you don't have to worry about! ;)

Oh! It's that time of year again isn't it.

Count me in for the evening, OzEx. I should be able to get to the KT some time after 18.00, so will look forward to another sushi lesson later on.

Will be at North Weald during the afternoon to help welcome a couple of Norwegian F16s, which are flying in to help us celebrate the 90th anniversary of the airfield at the weekend.

I had to use Google Earth to find out where North Weald is, RD... about 18.5 miles from the KT as the crow flies! :eek: Be great to catch up again this year and we'll definitely wait for you! :ok: Think I'll be on the same mobile nr as last year, if you have any problems.

After this sushi lesson, you should be able to solo on it! :D

Hmmm... I was just talking with another Prooner who was among those at the final London minibash last year. I came in here to see if a confirmation of attendance had been posted and it hasn't. :(

Oh well, at least we now all know that there'll be at least one more for this mini-bash and, for those who are game, it looks like there'll be a visit to a few other places after the festivities at the Cheese - and before the festivities at the Knight Templar! 18 August looks like being a VERY looooong day!:}

Cheshire Cheese? Bloody hell - that's round the corner from where I was working for 7 weeks ... until two days ago. Damn internships ending.

Will see if I can make it from across London town (well from the other side of the city).

G'day Ozmaaaaaaaate - really not sure if I am going to be up to getting in to London next Friday. Since the parkinson's bo11ox kicked in, triggered by the op in March, I haven't been able to work or come to London... however, I was started on meds just over a week ago and do have "windows" when I feel not too crook! So... how long will you stay at the Cheshire Cheese? If I don't show, please know that I will be there in spirit! Don't forget piccies!! Oh and I am deffo going to make the GatBash so will be able to hand over the Orlando bash entry for the Bash Register!! :E

Have a safe flight :ok: Oh and pack a waterproof in your carry-on, we seem to be having "occasional showers" :E

Jordan D... if you can't make it to the lunch session, there's an evening session at the Knights Templar, which isn't all that far away from The Cheese, starting around 17:30.

Brockie!!!!! I'm gutted! You didn't tell me about any of that. :{ I know that you have a long-standing problem with evenings, due to requirements of hound but, if you can't make the lunch sesh then, if you feel up to the evening portion of the bash, you know where the Knights Templar is! :ok: Failing all else, my phone number - effective from early AM that same day will be the same as last year... 0798 570 6420.

mrgaviates... yeah, like me mates said, just turn up! :)

In these less certain times, it's really nice to know that I can still count on you PP. Our sesh at The Cheese just wouldn't be the same without you hon!

Well folks, must now pack up the lappy and head for the airport. I won't be able to check in here again, so am looking forward to seeing you all at The Cheese, or the Knights Templar... or both! :ok:

Nearly had a major wrinkle in the plans. QF31 running over 3 hours late, on provisional estimate. That was going to threaten my attendance at The Cheese, so sought - and obtained - change to another flight which is on time and will get me to LHR in plenty of time to be at the pub at the appointed hour.

Oz - couldn't make it mate. Gutted.

Work stitched me up, and here I am at work on Saturday as well.

When a certain person gets back from a holiday he never told us about his life won't be worth living. I'm not the only one he's stitched up.... :mad: :mad:

G'day DX. I always have the same problem when I arrive in the UK. No opportunity to upload pix until I reach NCL and can connect using my lappy. Bit difficult to upload pix at an internet cafe, especially as the laptop docking station always seems to be in use...:{

Apologies too ! Ten hours of sitting in a pokey meeting room in Swindon meant all I wanted was home, shower, beer(or maybe two), curry and :zzz:

At least the only shower I had was a hot one :ok:

For anyone who may be interested, I'm contemplating a minibash re-run, using different venues, on 21 Sept. It's a Thursday, which might be difficult for most folks - more especially for those who, like me, will also attend the Gatbash. However, it seems to be the only available date.

More details closer to the date, but expect a kick-off time of 17:00.
