Hi All those old and young who have been to or stayed on the 40s, the oldest oil field in UK waters.

The party is on tomorrow so come along and meet all those friends you haven't seen for years!!

Time;- 1930 for 2000

Cold Buffet:-

roast chicken/roast ham/roast rib of beef with raifort cream/cheese platter/assortment of salads and baked potatoes/coffee.

Hope you all have a great time, it's a pity but 5 sar crewman ex 40's now based at sumburgh and not one can attend due to shift pattern and courses. would appreciate if someone could take photo's and let the rest of us working see them. hope the hangovers are not too sore.:cool:

As a dinosaur of the pre-immersion suit era ( when men were men and pilots wore polo necked sweaters!) when the 40`s echoed to the sounds of S61`s, S58T`s, Bolkow 105`s and the occasional Wessex 60 and the radio produced British, American, French, Dutch, and German accents but no females, may I wish all those who are able to attend the Shuttle party a happy and succesful evening. Perhaps, after a suitable number of dramms and when the tears of nostalgia are beginning to well up, they could spare a thought for all those truly great guys who forged the way in the North Sea and who, sadly, are no longer with us. I can think of a number who would be sitting on their clouds and smiling down at such a gathering and quite a few who would be looking up enviously from the other place!
