Hello

Im just about to submit an application to NATS, however, i have a slight concern regarding the minimum eyesight requirements. My current prescription is:

Right Eye

sphere: -1.75
cyl: -0.50
axis: 85.0

Left Eye

sphere: -2.00
cyl: -0.50
axis: 75.0

VA dist near

right 6/5 N5
left 6/5 N5

Unaided Vision

right 6/24
left 6/24

As i understand it the requirements are the same as a CAA Class 1 and i am also aware that NATS requirements are slightly higher than that of Eurocontrol therefore the outcome of whether or not i have the required eyesight will determine whether or not i apply for NATS or Eurcontrol.

Many thanks

Graham

You're fine you'll just have to have a restriction on your medical that you wear the glasses when operational

I am due to submit an application which states eyesight should be as follows:

Applicants should have 20:40 (6:12) in one eye and 20:100 (6:30) in the other or 20:60 (6:18) in each eye, or better, without visual aids. Vision must be correctable to 20:30 (6:9) in each eye.

The nearest appointment at my opticians is 2 weeks time so im trying to find out if my eyesight, listed in the opening post of this thread, are acceptable to apply.

Any information from anyone who know about this type of stuff woudl be greatly appreciated.
