dental surgery

I have searched and can't find anything, So I apologise if it's been asked before.

Is there a prescribed time required between having any dental surgery and flying? I'm sure there is, but I can't find it written down.

I can't find it written down anywhere either, but until someone does come up with a reference, it's always been recommended to wait for 48 hours after dental surgery before flying. An air bubble trapped beneath a recently filled tooth can be excruitiatingly painful at altitude.:}
