Hello folks,

Am interested in gaining my PPL, I have been introduced to the idea of going to the USA for a month to do this but I'm in the process of looking at the pros and cons of it.

Plan is to lurk for a long while and read up on it, as I'm sure it has probably been done in detail previously.

So, drinks are on me.

:)

Hello mate,

I considered the US route too but decided to get 1-4 lessons a week over here. My main reasons for choosing the UK over the US was - I wanted to learn in the enviroment I would be flying in and I was quite interested in doing a few lessons each week, It was something to look forward to.

I started off at Glasgow flying club but the £19 per landing after my first circuit lessons chased me away to Cumbernauld....Since you are close I would recommend you drop in and speak to the FTOs at Cumbernauld. Theres three of them, I've only used leading edge so can't really comment on the others.
