Hello all out there.
Just witnessed a Dak/DC3 over Hampshire inbound to Southampton/Eastleigh.
Can anyone elaborate as to who, what, why etc?
Thanks in anticipation:8

Was it definitely inbound to SOU?
I know Atlantic's DC-3 was flying back from Caen to Coventry this afternoon at FL 050.
Possibly coming in to pick up a load of oil dispersant from the oil spill response centre.Apparantly a large oil spill in the Menai strait area of Wales.. Atlantic have a contract with the government to spray dispersant from Dc3's, they carry special tanks and equipment for low level spraying..

Passed overhead at approach height approx 10miles out, that was around 11:00. Seen again, albeit briefly, through the cloud cover north bound at approximately 15:00. The second sighting would tally with the Caen-Coventry flight plan.

The Dakota was G-AMRA, haven't got any confirmation yet whether it landed.
