Hi everybody,
who could help me to identify the flying boat you see on the enclosed image? It is from the 1930's and most probaply French.
Apart from this I would like to ask if somebody knew other homepages where I have the possibility to identify old planes.
Thanks in advance,
Corto

My guess the drawing is from the Adventures of Tintin, drawn and written by the Belgian writer-artist Georges Remi a.k.a. Hergé?
Indeed, isn't that Tintin on the tender port side, back on?
Hergé to his credit seems to have a penchance for accuracy in his drawings?
Looks very much like a Greek registered Dornier DO-X but not enough engines? AMI on the wing and AMO on the fuse?

It's Lioré et Olivier LeO H 242.

Well done cringe. You beat me to it. I was going to suggest either the Late L300 or the Leo H242 but you seemed to have been able to pin it down exactly.:D

This was an incredible fast identification. Thank you guys a lot, especially Cringe for the phantastic links!

The link seems to have AMO on wing and fuselage (though the "I" is a bit distorted), AMI would appear to be a reprint error.

The link reg looks more like AMD to me, especially if you increase the image size.
