Hello all,

Lurker from very long time of those forums.......
My interest in the aviation world..was always rewarded ...when I read those forums....great posts here.

So...going to my first question....(dunno if this the good place anyways...the mod know...)
From a friend from Canada..who was few weeks ago on a airshow....
Visiting the Lancaster (From the Ontario museum..and flyiable)..he was astonished by the crampy cockpit...the GPS..etc...and asked to the pilot (or the guide...)...if they where comfortables in this small cockpit when wearing their parachute.
The pilot answered..they dont wear any in flight.....:confused:
I'm astonished by this answer.....
Any of you can confirm it's no regulations or laws about in Canada..
before I begin to scout painfully the web for find a eventual answer..:E

Can't speak for Canada but we never wore parachutes in any of the big prop types. The seats, unlike all the fighters, are designed for ordinary use.

What we did wear were parachute harnesses. Bailout involved straping a dinghy to your bum and a canopy pack to your chest.

In at least two drills I have had buddies trying to strap a dinghy to my chest!

For overland bailout we had the option of not taking the dinghy, and all its survival goodies.

Maybe the pilot make not the difference in his answer..between "wearing a chute"...or "carry a chute"....
