Tonkas buzzing round Cromer today - nice to see my taxes being spent on something more interesting than farm subsidies’ and Chavs

Thank-you ladies and gentlemen, but next time a little lower please! :ok:

Is it TLP time again?

Hi Maple.
No idea why the Tonkas were around Cromer but not TLP.

This week we will be mostly ... well here are some clues:

The weather is set to worsen from the north west of the UK. Rough seas are forecast along with strong winds and generally sh1t weather.

It will be particularly horrid in the Benbecula, Loch Ewe and Lossiemouth areas.

Early skirmishes have commenced, and I fully expect a full scale war to have broken out by the end of next week.

Can you tell what it is yet?

Thanks STH, wondered if it was that time of year again - gosh how I don't miss briefing that load of old poo - still, I guess they could get away with using my old slides, unless, shock, horror, a new scenario?

Viva Mustardia!

We spit on Mustardians and their mis-guided aims for annexation of the Brownian Motherland. Scumbags all of them!

New scenario promised for next year...

A medium sized bird advises me that if you are lower than a low earth orbit over Jockistan for the next two weeks you had better keep yer eyes peeled!

Yesterday - LFA 14 in the Crieff/Comrie area. Presumably the target for some/all of the wave was the old Cultibraggan army camp? Good stuff from the Tonka and Jag mates - particularly the chap who did the burner climb-out of the target area. Good stuff guys. Keep it up and good to see you.

Wee Jock McP

Yesterday - LFA 14 in the Crieff/Comrie area. Presumably the target for some/all of the wave was the old Cultibraggan army camp?

Thank you for jogging an old man's mind! Many a happy CCF (Army) memory from my school days in Glasgow spent at Cultybraggan in the 60s! I remember the cr@pper was a rather large bore sewage pipe that entered the hut at one end and departed 20 yds later at the opposite end. Ar$e size holes had been cut in it and wood attached to protect the cheeks from chafing. Decency was preserved by thin wooden walls separating each cut hole with hessian screen attached as the door to each cubicle. Every 20 minutes or so, a tidal wave sallied forth from top end to bottom end (no pun intended) sweeping the t*rds off to some huge septic tank or, perhaps, Loch Earn!

When a junior cadet entered the cr@pper it was the responsibility of we senior cadets to follow him (discretely) with an open tin of boot polish which, upon hearing the onset of the tidal wave, was lit with a match and sent forth on the building eddy current towards the other end! As it passed under the bare bum of the unsuspecting junior cadet he would utter an almighty scream and exit through the hessian with his bum scorched and his nuts on fire!

Laugh! We very nearly sh@t ourselves!

Those were the days!

FW

PS. Any left-wing do-gooders with pejorative thoughts of private boys' schools and bare bums can keep them to themselves, thank you. Such thoughts or concerns hadn't been invented in the 60s!

Ah, yes - Cultybraggan Camp with its famed communal bog pipe - we called it "The Flute" because that's what it looked like. We hid at the upstream end, made origami paper boats from the old IZAL bog paper and lit a flotilla of them each time the cistern gurgled. How we giggled as we launched them on their stately way downstream - multiple bums were scorched on our CCF summer camp, too! :E

It was even funnier when the senior cadet suddenly arrived and entered the mid-point cubicle after the fleet sailed...... :uhoh: We watched in horror and delight as the travelling smoke trail rose from every vacant bogseat. As the conflagration went under the final bridge to re-emerge under the senior cadet - we chickened out and legged it; laughing like drains as we left the building :D

Oh, Happy Days! 1968 I think it was. Same year we discovered some .303 calibre pencils to fire from our Browning bolt action rifles, powered by the many blanks we were allowed ....another story.

(Sorry about the thread creep :O ).

I've had the windows rattled a few times this evening here in darkest Kincardineshire - though thanks to the ground level clag, I've seen not one little glimmer of anything :hmm:
Could have been interesting if the JetRanger chappy who has been flitting about the Garvock/St Cyrus area found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time in this visibility :}
