Radio 1 did the same during the eclipse
They had a beach party in Cornwall and the Pet Shop Boys had written a song especially for the occassion and therefore BBC Radio 1 was the place to listen to the eclipse !?!?!?!?

I only have a black and white radio. :(

Bah Wireless, when I were a lad all we had were a candle under a flowerpot to watch, and we were glad fer' it. :}

Couldn't afford candles [posh git] WE had to use t'gas lamp on't corner, and 'cos we were small, had to stand at back.
