Good evening all,

Just a very quick question as I know some of you are all willing to help. I have noticed fairly recently that the First Choice flight numbers , european flights especially, are totally different to the actual vocal callsign on the radios. Would anyone happen to have any documents or anything that show what callsigns go with which flight numbers? eg.(FCA5404 - FCA236C)

Thanks guys , I hope someone can help!

Josh

All First choice callsign are - Jetset - so in the examples you give:
FCA5404 = Jetset5404
FCA236C = Jetset236 charlie

Hope that is what you wanted to know

I'm not sure of such a list with callsigns against flight numbers, but if you type in the callsign to www.trackaflight.com, it will bring up the details of departure and destination, if that's enough information for you.

I already knew that Brian , thanks for the reply though, Kestrel , I also know about the flytecomm website , but I can't seem to find any First Choice flights on it.. Thanks.

littlepilot,
Don't panic...'cos [sometimes] ATC can't find their callsigns either :ugh:
FCA/First Choice have a "Numeric" ticketing system....FCA1234 MAN-AGP....
The ATC "Callsign" could be FCA123C......if we are lucky, but it could also be FCA 964C......c'est la vie
Keeps us ATCers awake though

If you type in FCA123C as the flight number and click track, it should work. Don't use the drop down airline menu.

Here is FCAs schedule for June 1. Maybe you can match up the callsigns with flight numbers used for ticketing.

Why do First Choice Airways flight from Gatwick to Puerto Vallarta re-fuel in Orlando but the Manchester flight goes non-stop ? I don't seem to be able to get a valid reason from anyone.

Have just returned from PVT and the stop in Orlando was very tedious, had to clear immigration, change terminals, check in again, clear security and then re-board the aircraft !

Have to say that the cabin service was First Rate and as for the leg room, other charter operators should be ashamed !!

First post, so hope O.K.

To answer the 1st ? about FCA's dual-callsigns, the four digit alpha-numeric codes, eg FCA112c are our ATC callsigns, whilst the 4 digit numeric codes, eg FCA4616 are our commercial callsigns, so what the pax are ticketed for and whats displayed in the terminals. They usually bear no relation to one-another.
As littlepilot noticed, this only applies to EU flights - non-eu flights have the same atc/commercial callsign. For those interested, the commercial callsign displays info about the flight itself. The first no, in the above example '4' denotes the home-airport, in this case LGW (2 - MAN, 3 - BHX, 1 - GLA, 7 - BRS,5 - LTN/STN, 6 - Adhoc flight, 8 - BFS/DUB), the second number shows day of the week, so '6' represents a saturday (monday -1, tuesday -2, etc). The remaining numbers specify the flight.

In response to the above ? from Hatters Utd about fuel stops whilst on-route to Puerto Vallarta, the LGW one needs it due to the slight extra distance it has to fly - the MAN one doesn't need the extra stop (taking into account contingency fuel etc), but is near the limits. The extra few hundred miles makes all the difference!

PS - Glad you liked the extra legroom!

thanks Wipeout for the info on how FCA allocates flight numbers by airport & day, but how do they allocate flight numbers for long haul ie. GLA - SFB flight FCA090 ?

have FCA an upgraded in any way 752 currently the substitute aircraft for the UK - SFB flights that they are routing via BGR at the moment due to aircraft shortage/tech reasons.

how do they fit a 763 load onto a single 752 ?

The two Sanford flights GLA and MAN were operated by B757 G-CPEP i believe. They usually send some people off with Virgin, so they are the lucky ones so to speak.

It is very rare that happens though, and it was highly unusual that BM? went tech on Thursday and AN as well.
