I see what you mean. They misspelled D-HUMP.

You're right, it would be interesting to see the tail. Photoshop maybe?

Its the only thing these Notar people want to do, is to show you that because they are not compotent at landing, they can stick the tail rotor in the ground and damage the airframe instead.

It is impressive that it was airworthy enough to fly though!

CH, Why did you say "Notar people" in reference to that picture?

...Except that it's not a NOTAR, despite the "false advertising" on the tail.

See:

Just a bog-standard BK with one hell of a hotdog pilot moving the sticks.

I don't think that is advertising, check the meaning in German.

Notarzt closely translated to English is Emergency Surgeon as this is Christoph 27 an air ambulance in Nuremburg. :ok:

Yes, I know it wasn't advertising. I put the words in quotes because in the first pic you could only read just the few letters of the word that gave the impression that a BK had some sort of experimental NOTAR system...

Yes Yes I have seen this before - D-HUMP, base in Fiji - there is a 400ft drop just off shot - the tail is well clear!

This is D-HMUP ... why would there be a German registered a/c in Fiji?

Perhaps its so aft C of G because of the surgeons operating table in the back.

This picture shows how easy it is to rock back on the heels of the skids due to the rotor head design. Very useful technique for dispatching/off loading patients, thus saving the likely strain on the backs of the medics. Manual handling should be avoided if there are other methods, and here is a good example of an alternative. The health and safety executive would be proud of this method but I don't think the aviation would be quite so impressed!

or of course be used to allow really tall pax's to approach rotors running without bendng

You're all girlymen. This is how all Germans land. And keep those manicured lawns.

That wasn't meant to be facetious; it was genuine confusion. I haven't dug up that picture, its the link that was previous posted.

Apart from that, the vegetation is distinctly European rather than tropical. ;)
