Who was it who said there was no money in freight?

Precisely. I read somewhere that freight now accounts for some 30% of CX revenue. Recent press reports have also highlighted CX's desire to dump HACTL and build its own dedicated freight terminal in HK. But, as we all know, 'THERE'S NO MONEY IN FREIGHT'!!

It was said by Sir John Bremridge, Swire Taipan in the seventies who became the first non civil servant Financial Secretary of Hong Kong from 1981 to 1986. He introduced the USD peg at HKD 7.80 in 1983. He also stopped the proposed building of the new airport due to the economic climate of the time.
