Sorry, nothing to do with the RAF version!! Anyone seen this week's Flight? 2 articles about the Italian KC767 and the RAAF KA330. Seems there have been a few problems with interference from the Smiths Industry wing refuelling pods on the KC767 (that'll learn them - should have gone with the Flight Refuelling version) causing a vibration through the airframe. Boeing think they have a fix but it now means that the JASDF boom only varient will be the first in service. ItAF delivery schedule now slated as 2 in 07 and 2 in 08.:D

First RAAF KA330 shown in a very smart overall tactical grey on a test flight from the factory. :ok: Anyone know when it's due for delivery to Madrid for conversion?

Now let me get this straight. The RAAF and the ItAF both started their replacement tanker programmes after us, they both have aircraft flying (albeit under test with the manufacturer) and we are still persevering with a PFI:ugh: :ugh: :ugh:

The Oz jet goes to Madrid on June 2, Roly. But it's in 'green' state and will take a while to convert to MRTT standard.

Not surprised to read about the KC767/Smiths pods. I told the Man from Boeing at the time that untried technology was a bit of a risk....
