Just got off the phone from my Oppo in Somerset and he tells me of a strange procedure gong on down there. Seems that the Lynx force have combined their Flying Programmes so that there is just the one flypro. T'would appear that from one day to the next you don't know which squadron you will be flying with....and should you find yourself on the flypro of another Squadron then transport comes and picks you up (unless its night flying cos the MT don't do nights) and you go to the other Squadron. Your'e not allowed to drive yourself over to the other squadron because that would mean carrying pyrotechnics in your car and thats not allowed.... and before you ask....(I did) why don't you use the Survival gear on the host Squadron? Answer...Cos there's not enough SE because its being Leaned......?

Now the boys in Somerset have had this for a week now and its driving them mad... One guy has had his car smashed into by the MT driver....another guy thought "Sod this, I'll make my own way" and he then caught a parking ticket and is being threatened with being banned from the base....

Its true, honest... you couldn't make it up could you?

Any other people got examples of the hierarchy going mad and coming up with strange and wonderful, madcap ideas?

Had people been on the scrumpy before they thought that one up?

What savings are made, anyway? Unless they cut flying hours where are they saving?

I think its a covert way of cutting hours without anyone noticing. It will make the reporting of flying hours so complicated that no one will notice the reduction....

Combined FlyPro? Not enough kit? LEAN? Well rafloo, that's just some of the many ballaches the RAF is having to deal with, which leads me to describe it as a mess in another thread. Perhaps it'll become your turn to taste the pedantic bureaucracy that too many people are making a career of in the light blue these days? At least you don't have JPA yet.
Nothing personal, bloke.

Careful Rafloo you are in danger of spoiling the “everything is wonderful in the FAA and morale couldn’t be higher” party line.

Things would be much better if you all could wear the big badge with the same border colour….
