Just got into work in Torrejon outside Madrid - and the person I followed out of the station was wearing an Arsenal shirt with Henry (12) on the back. Which might seem surprising, unless you knew the deep abiding enmity between Real Madrid and Barcelona supporters.....

If I could have the choice, I´d prefer to lose tonight if Henry stayed at Arsenal. There´s always another year, but there´s only one Henry. But I have the sad belief this will be his last game in an Arsenal shirt. :{

I saw the final between Liverpool and Real Madrid many moons ago on telly in a bar in Barcelona.

I couldn't believe it when Liverpool scored and the bar erupted with joy. It was first time I'd witnessed the enmity between Real and Barca.

I, too, have a feeling Henry maybe on his bike.

Lived just outside Barcelona for a couple of years back in the 90`s & after winning the title, (1994/5) saw a bloke in a Real shirt on a moped have the balls to ride through about 5000 Barca fans celebrating the victory. Needless to say, not a good move...he was eventually spotted riding off into the sunset on his moped totally naked...very funny at the time.
Must say have a soft spot for them but hope Arsenal win tonight for my love of the English game wins hands down ( Liverpool being the exception to the rule...:mad: )
Anyway, I have a feeling Henry will stay 1 more season due the new stadium & all that.
I sincerely hope he stays in the Premier league & with any luck might trot up the M1/M6 to Old Trafford :} (sound of giant pigs preparing for takeoff!!)
Good luck Arsenal. (feeling you might just need it!!):ok:

..And here's hoping you don't get it. A large chorus of 'NAYIM' from all at the food poisoning clinic down at the lane. Good of Principal Skinner not to shake Martin's hand at the last derby at Highbury too.:=

Orac,

I don't get it? Why put Henry's name on Lauren's shirt? :}

Perhaps No. 12 will be his new number when he defects to Barca, instead of No 14.

Sorry to be a smart-@<hidden>!

I'll be wearing the 'lucky' Arsenal boxers tonight.... I really think we need the luck, but we might just nick it to open the Emirates Stadium in style. Let's hope Henry extends his stay to defend the trophy.

My hopes are fully with Barcelona. I do not know of any other team which plays the game so well, so entertaining, and with such results. Above all, they have Ronaldinho, who singlehanded is about 10 times better than the combined Arsenal team, Henry included. Arsenal does not, in my opinion, stand for anything but boring, cynical, defense orientated football.

For the love of the game - BARCELONA!

and my boss is a closet Arsenal supporte

Also hoping Barca win :}

I wanted them to go all the way just for the sheer enjoyment of watching them, and more specifically Ronaldinho, play. Never have I smiled more than when he works his magic.

He really seems to play football for sheer love of the game, and despite it being a toothy one, always has a smile on his face.

And if Barca win, it won't over-shadow Liverpool's victory last year :E

As a devout Gooner, for me, there can only be one winner tonight and its not Barcelona !! Ronaldinho - yes he is good, but one man does not make a team

While I would like to see TH stay for next year, he is not 100% nessessary in the Arsenal rise to the top of football. He like everyone else can be replaced.

Triple F

Taken from the football365 round-up of stats for this season.

Most Goals Scored: 48 Arsenal
Highest Goals Scored Average: 2.52 Arsenal

In conclusion, they score a lot -- so not defensive minded. Their defence let them down, that's why they only finished 4th, they conceded too many.

Have you seen them play this season?? I have, twice. They took my team, Charlton, apart on each occasion -- I could have said cynically took them apart....

All this aside, I have to agree that Ronaldinho is by far and away the world's best player and I hope he does well this evening.

The "12 - Henry" shirt was probably one of them cheap immitations that are readily available here in Spain....and you get the prize for spotting the deliberate mistake!

Surely Arsenal are a foreign team? ;)

Well they DID have two Englishmen playing for them so they were a bit more English than Barca. Mind you, Barca did bring on a Member of the Order of the British Empire in the second half who set up both goals. But I guess he is an honourary Scot rather than English, and only then if you happen to be a Celtic fan.

Wasn't the referee a complete tosser, though. :yuk:

LOL! :8

Somehow, I can't see Larsson being a Member of the Orange Order..

Hmm......it would seem the referee and his assistants may be accused of having received large brown envelopes with Barcelona post marks this morning. Their conduct has brought the game into disrepute.

An investigation is required, but I doubt whether the Swiss cuckoo clock maker will be brave enough to order one.
