Hi,

It took me some time to get a medical class 1 because I had a surgery just after I was born. Now I have my medical class 1 with special instruction. But I have a question about the medical examination as part of an airline selection program. Why are they doing that? You already have a medical licence? Can they disqualify you and what type of medical examination is it? Like initial or more like a renewal?

Some airlines, British Airways for example, have higher medical requirements than those laid down by the national CAA.
They require their pilots to go to specified doctors for medicals under minimum specifications laid down by the airline concerned, and that could be the answer to your question.
