Quote from a senior officer visiting a secret airbase in southern England -"Harmony is vital to the maintenance of morale and well being, there are very few exceeding the STC recommended period of 16 weeks"

Any thoughts?

Sixteen weeks of lessons with a Welsh choir is too much for anyone!!!

WIWO,

Sorry old boy, very few what exceeding the STC recommended period of 16 weeks? New computer systems up and running?

Traditionally I've found senior officer 'harmony' has something to do with GR7s working with NATO in Godknowswhereistan. Great pictures in the RAF News but nobody had a clue what was going on for 2 weeks...

...there is increased disharmony aboard this ship...

Well then, must be time to throw the palm tree overboard again then...

I presume you mean 16 weeks away in any one year? I personally have been away 20+ weeks every year for the past 3-4 years. I am not at all unusual in that respect (by the way I am not looking for/expecting any sympathy, I already have a dictionary!!), it is the norm on my entire fleet, indeed some unlucky guys spend considerably more time away!!

A case of nobody passing on bad news to the man at the top, or 'spin' being applied to the truth?
